Our History
For over 50 years, Silver Run Baptist Church has faithfully served the Lord and the community of Seale, AL.
On September 5, 1973, 19 believers gathered to worship the Lord in a local home, and a little over 2 weeks later, on September 23, 1973, the first service was held on the church grounds.
Through God’s provision, Ralph Matthews and Joe Flowers generously donated the land for the church. After providing the land, God also provided a building. Despite having no electricity or chairs, and only an old outhouse for necessities, the congregation gathered faithfully. Baptisms were initially conducted at Watermelon Creek near Seale and later in baptismal pools at other local churches as more people committed their lives to Christ.
The expansion of Silver Run Baptist to what it is today was made possible through the dedication, resources, and talents of many who gave selflessly to the mission and the unending grace of God.
